Freight Forwarding

What is Freight Forwarding?

For importers or exporters, it is crucial that you are able to transport your product to, or from, overseas markets efficiently.

Partnering with a good freight forwarder is the most efficient way to ship your goods. Whilst a freight forwarder does not actually move your freight itself, they act as an intermediary between a client (importer or exporter) and various transportation services such as shipping lines, air lines, rail operators, trucking companies, wharves, terminals, warehouses and the like.

In addition, Freight Forwarders provide their expertise in documentation, sales contracts, Incoterms and freight rate negotiations. Whilst some products, due to their size or nature, may only be suited to seafreight or airfreight, a freight forwarder will navigate through the maze of options and find the most economical way to ship your products on time.

The freight forwarding industry is constantly evolving, so a good freight forwarder will stay abreast of new markets, trade lanes and services and be able to provide a range of options to meet their client’s needs and budgets.

We service all Australian ports with airfreight and seafreight services. By air, we handle everything from small parcels via express courier, to general airfreight to full airline pallet loads and project freight. By sea, we offer LCL (Less than Container Load) and FCL (Full Container Load) services plus break-bulk and roll on roll off (ro-ro) for the large oversize shipments.

Whether you’re shipping from port to port or door to door we will structure our import and export freight forwarding service around your individual needs. We consider the entire process before shipping your goods. Beginning from the point of order placement, we look at what goods need to be shipped, when they are ready and when they are required at their destination. We consider all possible freight options based around this information and choose the appropriate carrier and method accordingly. This provides our clients with the flexibility of accessing the fastest transit times when required or utilising more economical (slower) services when time permits. Hard earned money can be wasted when an effective shipping plan is not in place.

We are an approved Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) and maintain certification to handle dangerous goods. In addition, we can assist with the preparation of export and shipping documentation. Our knowledge of banking requirements, legalisation, certificates of origin, government certification and export permits allows us to assist our clients in correctly exporting goods from Australia.

We can assist with export packing to ensure compliance with ISPM15 requirements around the world.
