DP World Melbourne Closure

We have received notification that DP World Melbourne may face business disruption through unprotected industrial action from 0900hrs until 1400hrs today 8th December 2017.
 
To ensure all external traffic on site is handled, they will unfortunately close their gates at 0800hrs and cancel all bookings from 0800hrs to 1400hrs. 

This means neither import or export containers will move to or from the wharf during this time.

We will contact all Tradewise clients affected directly by this situation.

Change to Import Packing Declaration Requirements

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR) has revised the minimum documentary requirements for import packing declarations.

DAWR has aligned the Non Commodity Information Requirements policy and the Non Commodity BICON Case with the import conditions for bamboo packaging.

Bamboo packaging is now acceptable provided it is treated by an approved method prior to export or on arrival and does not need to be declared as unacceptable packaging.

  • Korea - 1st to 9th October - Harvest Festival Holiday
  • China - 1st to 8th October - National Day Holiday
  • Taiwan - 4th October, 7th to 10th October - Mid Autumn Festival and National Day Holiday
  • Hong Kong - 2nd and 5th October - National Day Holiday and Day After Mid-Autumn Festival


There will be limited cargo movement to or from these countries during this time.
