Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Season 2017

The Australian Department of Agriculture & Water Resources (DAWR) has updated their guidelines and instructions covering mandatory pre-shipment fumigation requirements to protect against Brown Mamorated Stink Bugs over the 2017/2018 high risk season.

The measures will come into effect on 1st September, 2017 and run through to 30th April, 2018, covering imports from the USA East, West and Gulf Coasts to Australia.

Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Season Update

The seasonal risk of brown marmorated stink bug infestations in sea cargo shipped from the United States is fast approaching. Importers of break-bulk, containerised vehicles, boats, machinery and machinery parts are reminded of the requirement to fumigate shipments prior to departure.

The season will run from 1st September 2016 to 30 April 2017. Measures this year are largely the same as 2015-16, with season dates, treatments and requirements for management of target goods unchanged.
